Hunter Warbirds is home to an awe-inspiring collection of historic aircraft, trainers and fighters on display.

Step back in time in our 1940s aviation-themed café with breakfast, lunch and morning tea or afternoon tea options available. These start at $9 per person and can be customised for your group.

One of our qualified instructors will be close by to provide guidance throughout to ensure a full and sensational experience.

Looking for something unique? Why not get a picture of your car and one of our historic planes taken? We will move one of our historic aircraft* out onto the tarmac where you can take away a distinctive and unique memory from the day.

    Welcome to Hunter Warbirds (HW) – enjoy your visit with us. To ensure the safety and security of all our visitors and staff and to protect our valuable collections, we ask that you observe the following terms of entry:

    1. Additional terms of entry due to COVID-19

    We encourage you to refer back to these Terms regularly as they are updated in line with NSW Health and other Government directives (Orders) in response to the changing COVID-19 situation.

    In line with NSW Government rules, wearing a fitted face mask may be mandatory while you are visiting Hunter Warbirds.

    Think about your visit

    In line with NSW Health Orders, please do not enter HW if you or someone in your party:

    • is feeling unwell in any way

    • is experiencing flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, a sore throat or fatigue

    • has been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19

    • has visited a known COVID-19 case location during the relevant time and have been instructed to get tested and self-isolate

    • is awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test or has returned a positive result

    • has come from overseas and is required by law to quarantine themselves.

    HW reserves the right to deny entry to you and members of your party if:

    • anyone fails to provide their personal information for Contact Tracing purposes (your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy)

    • In the opinion of HW staff or Security, any member of your party appears to have symptoms that may place other people at risk or pose a danger to public health.

    Physical distancing must be observed.
    While inside HW, please stay at least 1.5m apart from other groups and stand on the designated markers when queuing. You must follow the directions of HW staff and Security.

    2. While in the HW facility you:

    • Accept that you enter HW at your own risk and acknowledge that, to the maximum extent permitted by law, HW is not responsible for any loss, damage, harm or injury arising from your entry to the premises.

    • Must comply with any direction from HW staff or Security.

    • Must follow instructional signage regarding consumption of food and drink, hygiene, capacity limits, directional flow and photography.

    • Must abide by safety signage in HW and ensure that equipment and furniture provided for visitor comfort and convenience is used only for its intended and ordinary purpose.

    • Must ensure children under 12 years of age are accompanied by an adult and are actively supervised at all times.

    • Must conduct yourself, and ensure any children in your care similarly conduct themselves, in a manner which, in the reasonable opinion of HW, does not interfere with, disrupt or offend other persons or engages in inappropriate behaviour which may result in injury to themselves or others.

    • Must cloak large bags (bigger than A3 paper size), carry-on luggage, wheeled shopping carts, long umbrellas, bulky equipment, scooters, balance bikes, tripods, selfie-sticks, rolled prints/posters, and any other items as directed by HW staff or Security.

    • Must keep your strollers, pushchairs and buggies with you or park them in the dedicated parking areas or collapse them for cloaking.

    • Must wear appropriate clothing and footwear at all times.

    • Must stow bicycles in the bike racks provided.

    Hunter Warbirds reserves the right to inspect bags brought into or out of the Hunter Warbirds’ building or onto Hunter Warbirds’ land, at its discretion.

    Small handbags and camera cases may be carried with you.

    Patrons must obey all signs and notices, and any reasonable direction given by Hunter Warbirds staff.

    Please ensure your clothing, general conduct, and behaviour (whether through language, gestures, or otherwise) is respectful at all times. Footwear should be worn at all times.

    Food and drink (except water and baby foods) are not permitted in the building.

    3. Safety and security

    HW reserves the right to:

    • Exclude or remove any person from any building, or part of any building or site for any reason.

    • Visually or physically inspect any bag or object, while you are on HW premises – this may require your assistance to move or remove items from the bag to facilitate our inspection.

    • Prohibit any other personal items it deems necessary.

    HW operates Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras throughout HW premises.

    4. Prohibited items may not be brought into the HW

    Prohibited items are:

    • Large luggage items.

    • Any animal (other than an assistance animal accredited under a State or Territory law to assist a person with a disability to alleviate the effects of disability; or that is accredited by an animal training organisation).

    • Any kind of real or toy weapon, firearms or other items or substances which HW considers to be dangerous.

    • Aerosol containers, laser pointers, balloons and drones are not permitted.

    • Any item which, at the discretion of HW Security, is considered capable of being used to cause damage to our collections or to conceal a collection object for removal.

    5. Protecting our collections – things you must not do inside HW:

    • Use any photographic, video or audio recording equipment in areas where this has been restricted.

    • Use professional photography equipment, including flashes, without the prior approval of HW.

    • Touch, or in any other way, interfere with collection objects or displays unless indicated.

    • Run in galleries, climb exhibits or use HW furniture for anything other than its intended use.

    • Smoke anywhere on HW premises.

    • Eat or drink (including having containers of food or drink) in display areas or other places where this is restricted. Food and drink may only be consumed in designated spaces within HW.

    6. Recordings inside HW for personal use and digital engagement

    • Still photography and handheld video cameras are permitted.

    • In areas where photography is permitted, please ensure that you:

      • Do not make any recording or take any identifiable photograph of any person without the permission of that person or their legal guardian.

      • Do not sell, license or otherwise publish, disseminate or reproduce (or permit such), whether in whole or in part, any images or recordings taken inside HW for commercial purposes without HW’s prior express agreement.

    Notwithstanding the above, if you upload, publish or disseminate any user generated content taken on HW premises (including, without limitation, photographs, video recordings, data recordings or sound recordings) to any digital media platform, including social media (User Generated Content), you consent to the commercial exploitation, throughout the world, of that User Generated Content by any means (including, without limitation, by re-sharing or re-posting such content) by Hunter Warbirds and our commercial and other partners without compensation on a perpetual, irrevocable and worldwide basis.

    7. Film crews and images

    From time to time, HW may be subject to filming. We will have signage posted and you may be asked to sign a consent form for you, or any children in your party, where your image is recognisable.

    Notwithstanding any written consent provided, by entering HW premises you consent to and authorise HW to take Images, use, reproduce and disseminate them via any means in any context or for any purpose without further authorisation by, or compensation or attribution to you. All Images are the sole property of HW or its licensees and by entering HW premises you release HW from liability arising on account of such usage.

    Patrons should note they may be subject to monitoring via the Hunter Warbirds closed-circuit television while on Hunter Warbirds land or within a Hunter Warbirds’ building. By entering the venue, patrons are consenting to the recording of their image or likeness, and the use of that recording for any purpose that Hunter Warbirds considers appropriate.

    8. Ticketed exhibitions and events

    You must have a valid ticket or pass to enter ticketed exhibitions or events at HW. Tickets are only valid if purchased from Hunter Warbirds or an authorised agent and cannot be resold for a premium. HW reserves the right to exclude you from a ticketed exhibition or event where the ticket breaches the Ticket Terms.

    9. Accessibility HW is committed to making its collections and exhibits accessible through various public exhibitions and online.

    We recommend that visitors with access requirements contact us or visit our website for details on accessible and inclusive programs and facilities to help plan your visit and/or ask at our Admissions Desk for details.

    Trained and registered assistance animals, such as guide dogs, are permitted.

    10. Personal information

    Where you provide your personal information to HW (including your image on CCTV), it is collected in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

    PRIVACY MANAGEMENT PLAN

    The Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 ("PPIPA") provides for the protection of personal information and for the protection of the privacy of individuals.

    The object of Council's Privacy Management Plan is to inform:

    • the community about how their personal information will be used, stored and accessed after it is collected by the Council; and

    • Council staff of their obligations in relation to handling personal information and when they can and cannot disclose, use or collect it.

    11. General information

    Unless prior written approval has been granted by the Hunter Warbirds, the sale of goods or services, and the conducting of charitable collections or fundraising, is not permitted on Hunter Warbirds grounds.

    Hunter Warbirds land must not be used for any political or other demonstrations or activities that are likely to cause offence to members of the public.

    Hunter Warbirds is a smoke-free building.

    12. Refusal of Entry

    For the comfort and safety of all patrons, and to ensure a respectful environment, the Hunter Warbirds reserves the right to:

    • Refuse entry to or evict any persons who do not comply with signposted notices or any reasonable direction given by Hunter Warbirds staff.

    • Refuse entry to any person who attempts to bring in any restricted or prohibited items.

    • Direct any persons or members of the public, as the case may be, to leave the Hunter Warbirds building or the Hunter Warbirds land, or both, where it has reasonable grounds to believe that public safety is or may be endangered, or the conduct of those persons is likely to cause offence to members of the public.

    Restricted and prohibited items

    Hunter Warbirds reserves the right to restrict or prohibit specific items from entering the Hunter Warbirds building or Hunter Warbirds land, or both, including where they may be considered to pose a risk to the safety of people and property, or cause offence to members of the public. These include:

    • Items that could be used as a weapon, including sharp items such as knives and cutting tools

    • Suspicious items or items which may look like a weapon, including replicas

    • Marking instruments such as spray paint that could be used to mark or deface property

    • Illegal substances, including controlled, dangerous, or illicit drugs or alcohol

    • Flammable or hazardous devices, including aerosol containers, fireworks, flares, and laser pointers

    • Political or other signage, banners, logos, or clothing that is likely to be offensive to others

    • Drones or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs)

    • Items that may be considered unnecessary for visiting the Hunter Warbirds galleries such as bike helmets and large or bulky items

    • Items that may cause injury, harm, or public nuisance, including noise-making and amplification devices

  • There is ample parking at Scone Airport for Hunter Warbirds visitors. Scone Airport can be accessed by local bus and taxi services.

  • Hunter Warbirds provides a range of facilities for all visitors.

    Please note there is no bag storage or pram parking in the museum.

  • Parking
    Hunter Warbirds forms part of the Scone Memorial Airport Terminal. Accessible parking spaces are available free of charge.

    Accessible toilets
    Both male and female ambulant toilets and a unisex accessible toilet are available at the museum.

    Wheelchair Accessible
    Hunter Warbirds is fully wheelchair accessible. The main entrance from the car park is wheelchair accessible. All the circulation paths around the museum are wheelchair accessible.

    Hearing aid loop
    A hearing aid loop is provided for the multimedia show.

  • Photography is permitted but the use of flashes is prohibited as it will damage fragile artefacts.
